WHAT A HOLIDAY

Been talking to Joel and the kids and anyway, they are on their way to first Georgia - to meet with some friends who moved away about six months ago - Holly's best friend - where they will stay a few days - then on to Orlando and Disney World for several days and then on to New York for a wedding of someone who Joel works with.  They will be back on the 31st.  Joel will have a few days at home and then back to New York.

They were in a hotel last night in Seattle because their flight took off at like 4:30 in the morning - or they had to be at the airport at that time, not sure.

Here are some photos Erin sent.  I love these!  Holly is growing up so fast and Holden is as cute as ever.

WE WERE DRIVING TO SEATTLE

Holly was in charge of the music - she chose a very heavy metal version of the BATMAN theme song - where in she and Holden really started rocking out and singing - I somehow missed most of the good photos of Holden doing an air guitar and really  animated.  I did catch Holly in her most heavy metal singing mode, lol.  It's about an hour drive to Seattle and we were entertained the whole way with music from Hamilton, Batman, and a few other good movies or plays.  It was fun!

First stop was a mall to get Holly's phone screen fixed and then on to the city.  It was sprinkling along the way and it's one of those times where everything just comes together to make a nice adventure.

HOLLY AND ASHLEY AT LUNCH

I'm getting confused with what i have and haven't put up so once in awhile I might duplicate a photo I put over at Walking Slo Fast.

First are two photos from Ashleys' work at a salon which we stopped into to pick her up and go to lunch.  There is a camera you can pose in front of and it puts you up on the screen.  The kids had fun with it.

STARTING THE WALK TO AL'S MARKET AND MT. RANIER IN THE BACKGROUND DOWN BELOW

Beginning with Holly getting a few photos of the dandelions around the property and the recent tree that was cut down the day before we got there - which is out by the beginning of the driveway on Banner road.  Most of the houses on Banner road are hidden by the trees and their long driveway so the houses are set farther back.  There are some though you can actually see from the road.

Banner road is right out there.

The day before this tree was cut down because of disease I guess.

Beginning our walk.

these wooden structures are where if it is raining the kids wait in them for the school bus.

These dogs have greeted us every time I have walked to Al's Market with Holly.

Mt. Rainier in the background - It's always fun to see it up there without clouds in front of it.

THE NIGHT BEFORE WE LEFT

Everyone was in a good mood - we had just had Joel's amazing rhubarb strawberry pie with ice cream - (the best crust i have ever tasted in the whole wide world - they took a class in Seattle on pie making one evening)...and rhubarb is delicious - never knew this)....

And then we were upstairs Erin and the kids and I working on an art project when the guys came up and whatever was going on made Erin laugh a lot.  Anyway it was a fun night.  Here are some pics.  I love the pic of Erin - I'm not sure if she comes here or not but I hope she sees these.
